- 5# pitted
dates
- 3# golden
raisins
- 6 apples,
peeled, cored, thinly sliced
- 1 3/4
gallons apple cider
- 6 cups
red wine
- 12 cups
sugar
- juice of
5 lemons
Method:
- Combine all
ingredients in a heavy bottom sauce pot.
- Bring to boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer from 50-60
minutes, or until compote has thickened well.
- Adjust seasoning
with lemon juice and cool quickly.
