Poundcake

 

Ingredients:
7 cups all purpose flour*
1 cup cornstarch*
2 tspn. salt
1 1/2# butter, room temperature
6 cups sugar
16 eggs
2 cups milk
2 Tbsp. vanilla

 

Method:

  1. Sift flour, cornstarch, and salt together 3 times.

  2. Combine sugar and butter and cream until light in color.

  3. Add eggs one at a time until all are incorporated.

  4. Scrape bowl well to remove any butter from the sides and bottom of the bowl.

  5. Alternate adding flour, milk, and vanilla in three stages.

  6. Mix only until thoroughly blended.

  7. Pour batter into a pan lined with parchment paper.

  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 75 to 90 minutes.

*You can substitute the flour and the cornstarch in this recipe with 8 cups cake flour.
