Walnut Spaetzle

 

 

Ingredients:

4 eggs
3 cups AP flour
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup walnuts, chopped fine
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. walnut oil

 

Method:

  1. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Stir in walnuts.
  3. Slightly beat eggs and stir into flour mixture.
  4. Add water and walnut oil and stir till smooth.
  5. Push through perforated pan or spaetzle maker into pot of boiling, salted water.
  6. Spaetzle floats when finished cooking.
  7. Remove with spider/strainer and shock in cold water.
